The Super Dimension Fortress Macross easily is the best robot show there is, the reasons are many but the main one is its way of telling one simple thing across its whole arc...and that is the human condition. It deals with it beautifully and it all begins in our time and ends in a distant future, as we see its many incarnations we are not watching a show about robots kicking the crap out of each other, rather the human journey as it encounters new species that once were the same as human or as it is done in Macross Frontier, the discovery of a new species totally unrelated to humans. Music, characters and beauty aside what sets this series apart and beyond from the rest is the idea that shared culture can achieve peace. No matter how alien the other species may be, in the end there is always a way to reach peace and that is something speaking to us here in our time that we cant stop fighting each other over small things. I really want to know what will come after Macross Frontier, they reached a point of perfection in their art and at the moment the show is light years ahead from the rest. Guess the journey will never end, after all Macross' journey is humanity's journey itself and that is infinite.
